

Marios Leandros Basteas
Sculptor, Teacher & Social Media Manager
Interdisciplinary Artist based in Berlin.
Initially trained in Informatics and Telecommunications, Leandros later graduated with high honors in Sculpture (MFA) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He works across sculpture, installation, experimental film, printmaking, and digital media. His practice explores human perception, neurology, and the relationship between material and immaterial experience, creating works that examine how mind, body, and environment intersect.
Selected exhibitions and projects include Being, written in stone, presented at Zwitschermaschine in Berlin as part of the SoundsAbout series; Xenos, a group exhibition at Alte Münze Berlin; and participation in DOMA: From Plato’s Cave to Modern Reality. In 2025, he was awarded 1st Prize at the MATAROA Awards during the Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair. He is a co-founder of the XOMA collective and the director of the experimental short film Shedding Yesterday’s Limbs.
